Fetal doppler?

I am admitting defeat. After hearing the heartbeat I can only keep my anxiety in check for about 5 days. My next appointment is in 3 weeks. This is not good for my peace of mind. Does anybody know an affordable (by affordable I mean under $100) fetal monitor that works reliably? I'm 15 weeks now so I should be able to hear it. I can actually feel the baby but sometimes days go by without definitive thumps. I need some help here!

  1. I bought mine for about $80 or so. Sonoline B or something like that? It was FABULOUS!

  2. I got a HI Bebe(BT-200) I think it was closer to $150(which is cheaper than a visit after hours to check on baby) It worked great though.

  3. You can rent the same doppler they use in doc offices for either $25 a month or $45 a month (digital with heart rate beats per minute) from B.elly.Be.ats .com - you can even record a sound byte of the baby's heart beat on your computer! We wound up buying ours to use for future pregnancies, but these are worth over $400-500 usually. Unfortunately, not all of these dopplers are created equal, and a lot are very poor quality.

  4. I got the Hi Bebe which shipped to Australia was quite expensive (I think more than the doppler itself) so I think if you shop around you could get one for close to $100. Worth. Every. Cent. And I used it through two "rainbow baby" pregnancies. Please email if you want more info.

  5. Five days? You are so not a failure. I was happy for 24 hours after either a scan or feeling the heartbeat and then I was a nervous wreck again. If you're managing five days before you freak you're doing AMAZINGLY well. hugs xxxxxxx

  6. I have the sonoline and have been happy with it. I bought it from www.pulseoximieteronline.com. It is $55 or so. You can buy extra gel too, but I just got aloe gel and it worked fine and is cheaper.

  7. Sonoline B. Kept me sane during low points. Also used aloe gel, mostly because I was lazy about ordering gel.

  8. I regret to say that I sold my doppler because if I hadn't I'd send it to you. I wonder if you could post a request on LFCA, because I bet there'd be someone there with a used one who'd be willing to give it to you, maybe you cover the cost of shipping? Surely in this community there must be at least one person with a doppler they'd be willing to pass along to a good home!

  9. Also, I'm seeing the Sonoline B as a buy-it-now item on Ebay for ~$57, free shipping.
